Sports chiropractic for Downtown & Thornton Park
Next Move Chiropractic is a sports and rehab chiropractor about five minutes from Lake Eola and Thornton Park on E Colonial Dr in Orlando. Runners, lifters, and climbers get a 60-minute one-on-one new patient exam with Dr. James Nguyen: assessment before anything gets adjusted, then treatment and rehab in the same visit.
Downtown Orlando and Thornton Park move on foot. The Lake Eola sidewalk runs 0.9 miles, the City calls it a distance tracker for runners, and two free run clubs loop it on Thursday nights. SUBU CrossFit loads barbells on W Robinson St, and Blue Swan Boulders puts climbers on the wall on Pittman St. All of that repetition produces overuse injuries, and the usual answer is a fast adjustment and a handout telling you to back off. Next Move Chiropractic is five minutes up Summerlin, close enough to bike from Lake Eola Heights. The exam hour starts with how you run, press, and pull, not just where it hurts, and what turns up gets treated the same day.

Questions
Downtown & Thornton Park questions, answered
How far is Next Move Chiropractic from downtown Orlando and Thornton Park?
About five minutes and roughly 1.4 miles from Lake Eola. Take E Robinson St east to Summerlin Ave, go north on Summerlin to E Colonial Dr, then east on Colonial. The clinic is at 1801 E Colonial Dr Ste 105, just east of N Mills Ave on the Colonialtown and Mills 50 edge of Orlando. From Lake Eola Heights it is close enough to bike.
Where do I park?
At the door, right in front of the suite. That matters more downtown than it sounds: you are not circling for a space or paying a garage, so a five-minute drive is really five minutes. Dr. Nguyen sees one patient at a time, so nothing is stacked behind you once you are in. If Colonial has you running behind, call the office so he knows you are on the way.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor in Florida?
No. Florida is a direct access state for chiropractic, so you can book the new patient exam yourself without a primary care referral first. Bring anything you already have: imaging, a diagnosis from an urgent care visit, notes from a physical therapist. It shortens the history part of the exam and points Dr. Nguyen at what to test first instead of starting from zero.
What should I wear to the first visit?
Whatever you would run the Eola loop or climb at Blue Swan in. Most of the hour is movement, not talking: how you squat, hinge, reach, and load. Shorts for anything below the hip, so a knee, hip, or ankle can be seen and treated without working around fabric. Flat shoes rather than boots, and a top you can press overhead in if the problem is a shoulder.
Can I keep climbing or lifting while I am being treated?
Usually, with the load adjusted rather than zeroed out. Climbers, lifters, and runners get the same 60-minute exam: assess how you move under load first, then treat, then start rehab in the same visit. The plan changes volume, grade, or movement selection before it defaults to rest. Not sure it fits your case? Book the free 15-minute telehealth consult and talk it through with Dr. Nguyen first.
